Delphine Avril Planqueel is a French photographer whose creative path began as an international model.
Transitioning behind the camera was a natural progression that stemmed from her keen visual intuition and artistic mind.
Over the years, she has a distinctive style that blends intimacy, edge, and dreamlike elements, shaped by her understanding of art, light, and storytelling.
She studied psychology in France and refined her technical skills through internship at Auckland’s premier photographic studios. Delphine quickly gained as part of a critically acclaimed fashion photography duo with Karen Inderbitzen-Waller, whose work has appeared in Vogue, Russh, Love Want, and was commissioned by the Auckland War Museum in partnership with the Victoria & Albert Museum's touring exhibition, Selling Dreams showcased in galleries like Saatchi & Saatchi and the Gus Fisher Gallery.
Together, they published a photographic book titled “Smoke and Mirrors available internationally at venues such as Colette and Librarie Yvon Lambert. In 2016, they were chosen Alessia Glaviano Vogue Italia's senior photo editor, for an exclusive portfolio review, one of only photographers invited globally.
With 20 years of experience in New Zealand and Australasia, where she established herself as of a renowned creative duo,
Delphine has now returned to Paris and Europe. She focuses on fashion campaigns, portraiture, and personal art & psycho-social initiatives, all rooted in a sexual tension, with each image narrating a story that goes beyond the surface.
